BRETT KEISEL #99

Hope everyone is ready for the STEELERS to win the SuperBowl! This is a video of my cousin Brett Keisel #99 sacking the San Diego quarterback a couple weeks ago. Kalli is right that we are only 3rd cousins once removed but yes...blood is blood. We grew up in two little towns in Wyoming about 30 miles away from each other. So we saw a lot of his work in action through track, basketball, and of course football! Now he's off to his second SuperBowl!

GOOD LUCK BRETT!!!

THE WAVE! Julie and I got invited by our amazing hiking friend Robert to go hike the WAVE with him today! He called yesterday afternoon and said he had tickets so we jumped at the opportunity. There are only 12 people that are allowed through the trail every day and he had to get the tickets 4 months in advance! It is out toward Paige, Arizona about 2.5 hours from St. George, almost to Lake Powell. It was a 7 mile 5 hour hike! And it was a blast THANKS ROBERT!!!
From the WAVE you can see this little arch and we climbed up there! Then we went into the Picture Arch room. The Sand Dune Room was my favorite! It is a big circular room that the wind blows the sand through and it has cut away the sandstone and the sand then gathers together in the middle of the room forming this sand dune!
These were taken on the way in, we are actually standing on a 45 degree slanted cliff, pretty fun illusion though!
We found this guy Yomas, originally from Poland, out there wandering around, so since Robert had been there about 13 times this guy followed us around. Totally European, he was so nice and had the most fun accent!
Robert was really wanting us to see this natural THRONE made out of sandstone. Robert's nephew Hans went too and he had a roll of toilet paper with him for the convenient photo opp :)

ANDERSON TOURS

Many of you know about my travels with Anderson Tours and I'm excited that I get to travel with them again this year. My college institute director, Clark Anderson, is the owner of the company and I got to know Clark as I worked in the Institute Presidency as one of his counselors. One thing that we organized as a Presidency was a Nauvoo and Missouri trip for the Institute students. I loved putting it together and making all the plans, so after the trip I told Clark I wanted to be able to help him with his tour groups. I moved to St George and have been helping him coordinate his tours for the last 3 years. Two summers ago I got to go to New York with the Institute tour and also to Egypt and Israel for two weeks on the Holy Land tour. My personal moto for Anderson Tours is "IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!" Not Anderson Tours the company, but everything that you get to experience! I can't believe how much all these few times touring have changed my view of the world and have educated my mind and spirit.

FOR EXAMPLE!

SATAN WORKS FOR DELTA AND...... HE HATES ME I know that Satan knew how much of a positive impact the tour of the Holy Land would have on me and he tried pretty hard to keep me from going on that trip. I was waiting in the Boston airport comparing my passport to another girl with me and in the back I noticed that I had changed my name on my passport when I got married and it had not been changed back! I freaked a little but I called Clark and he said that I should be fine. So we got to JFK airport and waited for my luggage...and waited...and it never came. Stinkin' Delta!!!!! I was feeling like I shouldn't go because we were going to Cairo...EGYPT! I wouldn't have anything! In my carry on backpack I had one pair of extra g's and another pair of capris along with a book about Egyptian Art. I knew that I wasn't going to be able to go, it was a sign, how were they going to get my lost luggage clear over to me in Egypt! Not do mention if I do get over there with my fake name passport what are the chances of me getting back? BUT I said what the heck, I'm goin and filled out the paperwork to have them send my lost bag over to Cairo at our hotel, which I only had a name of the hotel not an address and it was like the Cairo Hotel or something! I bought deoderant and a toothbrush in the airport and got on the plane! Clark had me listen to a Mika song as we took off and it said "say goodbye to the world you used to live in". I cried! :) I spent 5 days in Cairo and other cities around Egypt without my luggage. I survived! The girls I stayed with were wonderful and let me borrow t-shirts and shampoo and conditioner and toothpaste. It was SO much fun and I was overly grateful when my bag got in about 4 hours before we were supposed to leave for Israel. When I went to go get my bag I had to give my passport to our Egyptian guide so that he could go get my bag without me having to go through security all over again. The next morning as we were checking into our Israeli hotel they asked for my passport and I didn't have it! We had left it at the pick up in Cairo. AH! Actually I started freakin' out and the guide let me for a minute and then pulled out my passport from his pocket. He had driven all the way home that night which was a 2 hour drive, realized he had left my passport in the airport and drove back the 2 hours to get it and by that time our bus was leaving for Israel. When we got back to JFK customs took 2 hours so we missed our connecting flight to SLC. I hadn't slept AT ALL on the 11 hour flight back to New York so I was POOPED! I couldn't get our of JFK until later that night so a few of us that were left over went into the city and ate at this AMAZING restraurant! I got back to the airport got on my plane and passed out. Seriously I passed out, I woke up 1 1/2 hours later and we were still on the ground at JFK! I was totally out of it but we did make the 5 hour flight back to SLC and got in at midnight. Clark had arranged for his poor sister to come and pick me up and let me sleep at her house for 6 hours until I had to be back at the airport to fly to St George. It took me 54 hours to get home of which I didn't sleep at all except the 1 1/2 when I passed out, and the 5 hours at Clark's sister's!

SO we are going back in August if anyone is interested! Check it out on andersontours.com !

5 YEARS!
So I have been legally divorced for 5 years today. Not something to be proud of but has caused me to reflect on those who have helped me through being just another American statistic.
Mom and Dad
Thank you to mom and dad for trying to gently warn me before I got into the situation. For dealing with my disastrous life while remaining calm. For putting up with my psycho-simatic behaviors that have thankfully dwindled. For suggesting counseling. For calling me every night for six months. For worrying. For moving me out. For going to the lawyers with me and setting it all up. For going to court with me. For crying with me. For praying for me. And for being SO patient with me! ... and everything else!
Jamaica and Julie
For knowing that the best thing they can do for my love life now is leave it alone. For supporting me and having fun with me while I'm single. For putting up with my psycho moments. For not judging me.
The rest are relatively chronological in my mind:
Carol Doerr
I went home alone without Orion for Thanksgiving with a black eye and at church Carol asked me if it was ok if she gave me a lamp for a belated wedding gift, and as I started to cry I told her that she better wait. It makes for a good story Carol, and I love you! It sorta makes me laugh now :)
Steve Trombley
For taking me flying and helping me get my feet off the ground again! For checking in on me once in a while!
Debbie Hammons
During a phone call she said that I would go through MANY different phases. She was so right. I could tell each day that I stepped through another veil into a different phase. She also said that it takes SO much time to deal and heal with divorce and that has brought me comfort in enduring.
Patty Hansen
For putting my name on the prayer roll every week.
My Home Ward
For praying for me and asking about me.
Dick Shaw
For always wanting to see how I am doing when I go back home even though he had so much more to be concerned about.
Bishop Schilling
For showing me that Heavenly Father cares about me and loves me and wants me to be happy. For helping me repent and forgive. For keeping a close eye of concern on me and how I was.
Dana Vercimak
For letting me live with her for a month while I had no where else to go.
Maile Schilling
For letting me live with her again and for keeping an eye on me. For being so patient and a great listener.
Walmart Cashier
For getting yelled at by the woman ahead of me in the checkout line the week after I got divorced. For crying about it to me. For showing me that you never know what people are going through BE NICE!
Crazy Blind Dates
For keeping me single for the last 5 years.
Medication
For keeping me sane the last 5 years.
Sara Partridge
For being my best friend and not judging me. For being relentlessly righteous. For being a great example of where I should be.
Janell Gotfredson
Ex best friend. For not knowing anything about my life and telling everyone that I made up what Orion put me through. That was suprisingly motivating.
Timmy Schilling
For going to lunch with me everyday so I didn't sit at home and cry by myself.
Clayton Melinkovich
For taking me 4X4-ing. For letting me use his guns to shoot and distroy everything that reminded me of Orion.
Collin Whitehead
For showing me the type of person I wanted to be while going through my identity crisis. Oh and for breaking my heart while in the process.
Clark Anderson
For letting me work with Anderson Tours and go to Egypt and Isreal and New York. For life discussions that have helped me focus.
Hitler
For making me realize that I don't really have anything to be worried about.
Colleen Tucker
For all the hours of therapy and helping me understand who I am and being ok with it!
Orion Wells
For showing me what I never knew I never wanted.
My Future Husband
For putting up with all of the above and for letting me be sealed to him and not to Orion.
