FROGGY BABY
I'm so excited today I got to see and hear our little baby! I had my first prenatal appointment with my midwife Katie Gubler and it went great. Jimmy wasn't able to get off work which made the appointment a little lonely for me but as soon as Katie came in the room I was comfortable. Katie delivered my sister Jamaica's baby Jaida in July. She did a great job and her "mood" and mode I guess during her delivery was right along side of what I would like to have. I know that she will be able to keep me calm during the whole thing!
It didn't really connect with me that I was pregnant up until today. I felt sick, tired, and didn't want to eat. I just felt different and sick is all, not pregnant.
She did an exam and my first excitement came from Katie just pushing on my lower abs she said "You are definitely pregnant! I would say about 10 weeks, yep!" I couldn't believe she could tell just by that and just her small verification made it more real for me. It made me happy that all the sickness so far was not for nothing!
Katie found the heartbeat and it sounded great! She also did a mini-ultrasound and I got to see it! Here is a picture from the internet that matches almost exactly how it looked...
It would move around and stretch out and snap back it's stubby little legs and arms at the same time and it looked like a little frog! I guess that's a little different than the usual "peanut" or "nub" nicknames for women's unborn babies but the little froggy was dang fun to see. I'm so glad that Katie let me see it and hear the heart beat! I haven't been this excited since week 4 when I took the test and couldn't stop smiling.
I saw Jamaica and my niece Mya just after and I told Mya that I got to see my baby in my tummy. She said,"Oh Awesome! You got to see your baby Michael?" She is determined that I'm having a boy and the only boy she has seen pictures of are her brother Michael but it's so cute. The day after I took my positive pregnancy test and before Jimmy and I had told ANYONE, Mya asked me "Jen, are you going to have a baby girl, or a baby boy?" She just knew I guess!
It's a little overwhelming and I'm not sure what else I can do to try to prepare for the whole thing but, it's kind of a day to day thing!

I'm glad that everyone has been so excited and happy for us! It means a lot and I can understand your excitement now a little bit more since it is a bit more real for me, and I feel better too :)
I love tips and hints, advice ANYTHING so let me know what you got!!!

YAY!!! Congrats! Peanut butter and bananas were great to help my not feel sick... Check out babycenter.com for their week to week pregnancy guide. Start buying diapers now, and i LOVE papmers. There is a book on amazon.com called "On Becoming Babywise" and I swear by it! I read it and followed along with the guidelines and Hayes sleeps through the night and has for a while now.
